When I was almost 13 my father looked at me and said "I think you would be a good archer." My dad is a Rolfer and expert in tissue manipulation and posture. He proceeded to buy me a bow for my 13th birthday, At first I shot just for fun, but within a year I was encouraged to become a competitive archer and enter tournaments. In June 2016, at age 14, I went to Korea and met Coach Kim, one of the best archery coaches in the world. He instilled in me a work ethic and dedication to archery that I carry with me everyday, practicing 5-6 days a week, 4 hours per day. Though I still have a long way to go, I was ranked 9th in the United States in the Cadet (14-17) category in 2019.
